Pōhara Architectural Renovation
In Progress
This renovation designed by Bell Stephenson Architects is currently in progress, with the client working alongside Dan and the team onsite to get the job done.
With a clear vision for an architectural renovation, this project will result in an energy-efficient, passive home that complements the stunning views.
Deck and Reclad, Parapara
Completed
This renovation project involved strengthening the front framing of the house, recladding and insulating the external wall, and building a new Kwila deck.
The home owner, Colin Crampton, shared “Located on Parapara Beach, I have always imagined our whare being subservient to nature and the sea rather than the other way around. When I had conceived my master plan my first job was to get new cladding on the whare and upgrade the deck. Dan Burton had worked on the next door neighbours house and after a few chats Dan agreed to complete the work. Dan is a very nice fellow and easy to work with. Dan understood what the big idea was including how to manage the endless flow of sand coming off the beach onto the deck and other important details of the work. The finished product is what we both conceived and now I am delighted to get on with the final landscaping.
Bach Renovation, Pōhara
Completed
The owners of this classic two-storey family bach in Pōhara needed a new roof and Bay Wide Building was able to help get the job done.
This has been completed using Coloursteel in ‘Sandstone Grey’.
Deck and External Office, Collingwood Tiny Home
Completed
On this stunning property is a quaint tiny home located in Collingwood. With close access to the beach and Collingwood township, who could want more?
The owner contacted Bay Wide Building to construct a deck, a custom-built accessway to the beach and an external office space. The brief was to match the style of the existing Ruru Tiny Home that is on the property. The deck has been built using Garapa hardwood decking.
Home Renovation, Te Waikoropupū Springs
Complete
Bay Wide Building was contacted to help the owners with their renovation project.
An uncomfortable layout was the main driver behind the renovation. The design has since changed drastically, turning a dysfunctional wet room into a functional fourth bedroom and closing up an unused passage.
Deck Build, Central Tākaka
Completed December 2023
The residents were ready to complete their outdoor living space with a large timber deck on the sunniest side of their newly built home. Dan delivered a quality timber deck for the residents, in time for Christmas lunch.
Fence Build, Pōhara
Completed November 2023
The brief was to compliment the newly built home, to work with the sloping landscape and be practical for the family’s needs.
Located in the picturesque town of Pōhara, this fence was built using .55 Endura colour steel for extra durability and quality timber supplied by ITM Takaka.
Renovated Bungalow
Completed 2014 for Peter Kelly and Shauna Mcclelland
“Dan Burton completed our post-earthquake renovation in 2014. This involved re-piling part of our 1920s bungalow, removing a wall inserting a beam to create an open-plan kitchen/dining area and project managing the kitchen installation and all earthquake-related repairs. Dan showed excellent organisational skills and workmanship. He kept us well-informed throughout the project and involved us in all key decision-making. He was constructive when dealing with problems that inevitably arise during this type of project and we regard his work as thorough and good value for money. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dan and would happily use him again.” – Shauna McClelland
New Build - Port Hills Christchurch
Built by Mo Brown Builders
Bathroom Renovation
Completed April 2022
“ Dan helped us to replace our existing shower in April 2022. The brief we gave him was that we needed a bigger shower, using the same space we had, but we had a limited budget.
With Dans help, we were able to make an informed choice about which shower to purchase, and which supplier to get it from. The replacement was well coordinated and the job was quickly finished in just 3 days.
Working with our chosen plumber, Dan made sure he had everything ready so they could come in and do their job efficiently. We would hire Dan for any renovations in the future. He made the process flow well and communicated well throughout. “ – Rachel & Jeff Moffitt
